The Post tournament is set for Thursday, February 25th through Saturday, February 27th. Last year we placed second in this tournament. This year there will be six teams involved: Anson, Colorado City, Kress, Post, Muleshoe, and Claude. I think everyone had fun last year down in Lubbock, and hopefully we can have some success again. I also hope we don't have to deal with the wind like we did last year. That was miserable. I'm sure Coach Green will give every boy a tournament schedule, but I will go ahead and post the times that we are playing (at least for now). We actually don't play on Thursday this year. The boys will head done there on Thursday again, but they won't have to play the late game this year.
Friday, February 26th
Claude vs. Muleshoe at 2:00 PM. There will be a flip for Home.
Claude vs. Post at 7:00 PM. Obviously Post will be the Home team.
Saturday, February 27th
There are three different times we could be playing on Saturday, depending on how Friday goes. If we don't do so well then we will probably go in as the #3 team of our pool. This would mean we would play at 9:00 AM. If we split on Friday, then more than likely we'll go in as the #2 team. We would then play at 11:30 AM. Finally if we do really well and win two, then we will play as the #1 team at 2:00 PM. If we go in as the #3 team then the 9:00 game will be our only game for Saturday. If we play in the 11:30 or 2:00 games and we win, we'll play at 7:00 PM for the championship and if we lose, then we'll play at 4:30 PM for Consolation.
I know it's a little confusing, but it will make sense when you actually look at a schedule. I hope this helps in notifying you parents early, so you might know when you need to get off of work.

Baseball finally begins
So after much snow accumulation and harsh weather, baseball can finally start. This week's weather is supposed to be relatively nice, so hopefully the sun will melt the remaining snow on the field. Thus far, the Alumni Scrimmage is still on for 1:00 pm on Saturday. The schedule says 11:00 but that is the time Coach Green wants his players there, I believe. If the weather decides it doesn't want to cooperate, I'll be sure to let everyone know of any changes. Here's to the opening of baseball!!!

Scrimmage cancelled
The scrimmage scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. Our's and Caprock's fields are covered in snow, and with the temperatures remaining so cold the snow isn't melting off of them very quickly. Hopefully we will get to play next week in the Alumni game. Although, as of this morning the forecast is calling for snow again on Thursday. I'll be sure once again to keep everyone updated.

So the weather begins...
Well baseball practice could officially begin on Friday, January 29th. However, with all the snow and ice that came to the area baseball practice for the Mustangs has yet to commence. Now it's a waiting game for all the moisture to dry off the field, so that it can be prepared for the season. Also with Coach Green helping with basketball, it's likely that the first practice will also be the first scrimmage. Which incidentally is probably going to be the first victim of rescheduling. It's not for sure yet, but more than likely the scrimmage against Caprock will be played there instead of at home. We'll see how everything plays out in the coming days. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted about any changes. For now, let's root for the boys to beat Canadian tonight which could put them in the playoffs (in which case the scrimmage would be cancelled all together)!!!
